About me

Leyla Momeny

I’m a RIE Intern, parent educator, special education teacher, and a mother of two. I began studying the work of Magda Gerber in 2011. I love sharing this beautiful approach with parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators. 

I've taught workshops and facilitated parent support groups at Natural Resources, Recess, and Day One. I've also provided customized, 1:1 trainings inside my own home and throughout San Francisco on the importance of child-led play, authentically connected communication, unfettered motor development, sibling challenges, and effective, non-punitive approaches to discipline. 

I'm motivated by a joyful desire to share these extraordinarily important principles, but I want to emphasize that there are multiple roads to secure attachment; there is, of course, more than one wonderful way to care for children!

During my off hours, I love to hike, fail at baking, and casually and childlessly stroll down the long, cluttered aisles of my favorite thrift shops.
